With either edition of the CR-V, you'll get many of the same features in both model years, with the exception of some updates inside and out in 2020. Now, the CR-V gets a facelift with some changes to its exterior design. This vehicle also gets advanced driver safety features on each trim level. A new engine is standard this year that delivers more performance at the base level. In each model year, you'll find a pleasantly spacious and well-equipped vehicle with a spacious interior and plenty of cargo capacity. The 2019 CR-V carried over mostly unchanged from the 2018 model year, providing the same power and performance capabilities as its predecessor and the same appearance.
In 2019, the CR-V provides two engine options. The base engine is a 2.4L with four cylinders that produced 184 HP and 180 LB-FT of torque. This engine is matched to a continuously variable automatic transmission. The second engine is a turbocharged four-cylinder that produces up to 190 HP and 179 LB-FT of torque. This engine is also linked to an automatic transmission. In 2020, the higher-end engine from the 2019 CR-V is standard. The CR-V is also offered in a hybrid version for the 2020 model year.
In 2020, the Honda CR-V gets some styling cues that distinguish it from the 2019 model year. The 2020 CR-V is available in eight colors. Front to back, it features a sculpted, chiseled, and overall more athletic and polished design. Chrome accents grace its sides, while LED lighting makes it stand out in the crowd. With 19-inch alloy wheels, this vehicle is designed to turn heads wherever you go. The 2019 CR-V features 17-inch alloy wheels at the base level and LED daytime running lights. A rear privacy glass, heated mirrors, and fog lights are standard or optional for both model years.
Inside, the 2020 CR-V gets some standard safety features not previously included in the 2019 model year. Every trim gets the Honda Sensing® package that includes road departure mitigation, collision mitigation, lane-keep assist, and adaptive cruise control with a following low-speed sensor. All trims are also equipped with advanced airbag technology and seat belts. The 2019 CR-V offers the same safety features, but not all safety technologies are standard on this model year. Aside from the updated safety profile, the interior of the CR-V is mostly the same for both model years. Both vehicles offer plenty of space for cargo and passengers with roomy back-row seats and ample trunk space. Base-level amenities include a five-inch display screen, a four-speaker audio system, and audio climate control. A sunroof, push-button start, and keyless entry are included on the higher trim levels. Heated front seats and a larger display screen with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay are standard on the higher-end CR-V trims.
In 2020, the Honda CR-V gets a more powerful base engine, more standard safety technology, and a fresh new look for the latest model year. Contact our dealership today for the opportunity to test out both model years for yourself.
