What can you expect to find when you compare the 2022 and 2023 versions of the HR-V?

Performance

There are exciting differences between the capabilities of the 2022 and 2023 versions of the HR-V. The 2022 HR-V is moved by a 141-horsepower, 1.8-liter engine with front-wheel drive and a continuously variable auto transmission. All-wheel drive is optional for 2022. For the 2023 model year, the HR-V receives 158-horsepower from a 2.0-liter engine and the same transmission. The optional all-wheel-drive system has been replaced with optional Real Time All-Wheel Drive™. The 2023 HR-V also comes with an independent rear suspension.

Appearance

The differences between these versions of the HR-V continue throughout the exterior. For 2022, the HR-V has smooth curves across the profile as well as twisting accents on the side doors. The triangular headlights trend outward from a thick, bar-style grille. For 2023, the profile has been redesigned, and the vehicle’s stance is longer and wider. In addition to having smoother sides, the new HR-V has a dominant scoop that crosses through the hood. The grille is smaller and rounded, and the headlights are enhanced by an orange, linear accent.

Features

The 2022 and 2023 HR-V share many features. They are both loaded with gear like a blind-spot monitor, adaptive cruise control, forward collision mitigation, lane-keeping, smart device app integration, heated front seats, a large display screen in the center stack, a keyless ignition, a rear auto-dimming mirror, leather material and a few USB power ports. The 2023 HR-V introduces a few new features. For example, some or all of the 2023 version’s trims could have a larger display screen, a digital instrumentation panel, a wireless charging pad, traffic jam assist, wireless smart device app connectivity, traffic sign recognition, and a wide-angle camera.
