2023 Honda CR-V vs 2022 Honda CR-V

Serving Murfreesboro, TN

For over two decades, the Honda CR-V has been a top pick among auto shoppers interested in a small crossover. This well-designed model has evolved dramatically over that period and ventures into its sixth generation for the 2023 model year. With exciting improvements to the Honda CR-V’s performance, appearance and features, you understandably want to know what is in store if you upgrade soon. What are the differences between the 2022 CR-V and the 2023 CR-V that you should be aware of?

Performance

Honda has made a few significant updates to the CR-V’s capabilities for the 2023 model year. The CR-V is available for both 2022 and 2023 with a 190-horsepower, four-cylinder, turbo 1.5-liter engine. This is combined with an automatic continuously variable transmission. In 2023, the powertrain options grow with the addition of a hybrid system. This is a 204-horsepower engine system that combines two electric motors with a gas-powered, 2.0-liter engine. If you decide to drive the hybrid CR-V, your vehicle will produce torque of 247 pounds-feet and will feature all-wheel drive with an Intelligent Control System. Hill descent control and a Snow mode are new features for the 2023 model year.

Appearance

The next-generation CR-V for 2023 also has been enhanced throughout its exterior. A side-by-side comparison shows that the 2023 CR-V is slightly wider and has a longer nose. The façade has been restyled with a lowered beltline and a redesigned nose. On the 2023 CR-V’s nose, you will find reshaped headlights dressed up with an upper bar of LED lighting. The grille and lower fascia have been modernized and express the CR-V’s sportiness.

Features

The differences between the 2022 CR-V and the 2023 CR-V continue to be found in their safety features. While both model years are available with a wonderful selection of Honda Sensing® safety features, the 2023 CR-V adds a few extras. These include traffic jam assist, traffic sign recognition, low-speed auto braking, a wide-view camera with radar, knee airbags, side-impact rear airbags, and next-generation front airbags. Throughout the cabins, you can find a variety of standard features. Equipment available in both model years includes Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, a Bose premium sound system, a navigation system, a 7-inch digital driver’s instrumentation screen, a 9-inch central infotainment system screen, wireless device charging, and USB ports.
